The actress has been seen carrying the bag on multiple occasions over the past year Leather Work Tote
What makes an excellent fashion investment? Something timeless, well made and versatile – that goes with everything in your wardrobe. Angelina Jolie's new favourite accessory ticks all these boxes; she's relied on the oversized tote bag all season long.
The actress has been spotted on various occasions carrying the Celine 'Horizontal Cabas' bag, pairing it with a variety of looks – from classic camel suiting to summer maxi dresses and all-black outfits.
Thanks to its classic design – the 'Horizontal Cabas' tote bag comes in black or brown and features the fashion house's signature Triomphe motif embroidery – Celine's oversized tote is a great investment buy as it will never feel dated, can be worn whatever the season and, of course, fits all your essentials in.
XL tote bags are becoming increasingly popular, with brands like Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and Dior all producing larger styles. The humble tote bag has been part of our everyday wardrobe for years now, and there are now so many more luxe alternatives to the cotton shoppers you might have accumulated over time.
Given the style's practicality, it comes as no real surprise that the luxury oversized tote is here to stay. Cassie Smart, head of womenswear at Matches Fashion, says more customers are investing in the larger bag size – a trend that shows no sign of slowing. “We have seen our customers gravitate towards larger totes and bags over the past year and we grew our buy by 35 per cent,” she told us when we first reported on this trend in 2021.
She added: "The tote has moved on from just a practical bag to carry your laptop to work in – many XL Bags, large totes and holdalls feel luxurious and are timeless investment pieces that our customer is engaged with."
Over the years, the XL tote has only grown in popularity, with Saint Laurent's 'Icare Maxi Shopper' named Lyst's "hottest product" of the final quarter of 2022. The platform saw a 46 per cent spike in searches for the style, after it was seen on the likes of Zoë Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Bella Hadid and Sydney Sweeney.
